Historical and Cultural Tour at Sunset
The area of Tortolì boasts a history that begins, at least for what concerns the evidence available to us, over 6000 years ago when granite represented the material which, capable of guaranteeing a very long duration in time, was used to create artifacts that had a fundamental importance for the life of that time, especially with a view to prayer, sacrifices and cult of the dead. The evidence of those old times is scattered throughout our territory, sometimes hidden and sometimes clearly visible but all capable of telling many stories from a distant past. This territory with a glorious past has now also become the place of modern tourism, in a contrast that sometimes cannot be grasped.
This walk takes place between the countryside and the beaches to discover the evidence of the ancient history of Tortolì. We will visit the Menhirs of Perda Longa – here called “is perdas fittas” – the Domus de Janas and the rock engravings in granite. We will walk along the shoreline (on the beach and granite rocks) and then we will take a break to enjoy the sunset.
